CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF MEXICO 1934-1946
by Martin Ough Dealy

I was born in The Cowdrey Hospital, Mexico City in April 1934. My parents were Margaret and Walter Ough. Their history is recorded elsewehere on this site, but suffice to say that I spent most of my early childhood in various parts of Mexico where Dad  had work. The majority of these, for me, halycon days, were spent in Pachuca., the capital city of the state of Hidalgo and the centrre of a very large mining industry. The mines were worked mainly for silver and gold, but there were other minerals to be exploited. The following stories are about those days and are recalled through the hazy mist of memory separated from that childhood by over 70 years.
